Kramamukti (क्रममुक्ति)— Steps to Liberation
At KM-Yoga, the name itself carries our intention. Kramamukti (क्रममुक्ति) refers to “gradual liberation”.
Krama क्रम means “step” or “sequence,” and Mukti मुक्ति, means “emancipation.”
Together, Krama and Mukti express the experiential path of steady progression — step by step connection of body, mind, and spirituality leading to freedom. Our approach is rooted in the authentic Viniyoga tradition of Śrī T. Krishnamacharya and Śrī TKV Desikachar, as transmitted through Dr Kausthub Desikachar. This lineage emphasises respect for the individual — Viniyoga - appropriate application of the tools of yoga to each person’s unique needs and circumstances.

Our Story so far...
Kim’s teaching journey began with Aṣṭāṅga Vinyāsa Yoga, where the discipline and vitality of the practice first inspired her to share Yoga with others. Over time, her teaching deepened through study, self-inquiry, and a growing understanding of Yoga as a philosophy, lifestyle, therapeutic and spiritual path. This evolution gave rise to KM-Yoga, which later became a collaboration with Fred Burnham — blending Kim’s lifelong dedication to Yoga with Fred’s decades of clinical experience in healthcare.
Together, they form KM-Yoga, an evolving partnership that bridges modern healthcare with the timeless wisdom of Yoga. KM stands for Krama-Mukti — “steps to liberation” — a reminder that genuine healing unfolds gradually, step by step, toward connection, truth, and the divine.
Both are currently completing the 1000-hour Viniyoga Therapy Diploma under the supervision of Dr Kausthub Desikachar and the global Viniyoga community, within the living lineage of Śrī T. Krishnamacharya and Śrī TKV Desikachar.
Through KM-Yoga, Kim and Fred teach breath-centred Yoga that restores steadiness, clarity, and confidence — grounded in clinical skill, shaped by tradition, and devoted to authentic human healing.
In addition, Kim offers in-depth Yoga Teacher Training and continuing education grounded in the classical teachings of Yoga as transmitted through her teachers. Her approach is rooted in the paramparā (living lineage) rather than westernised or musculoskeletal scientific interpretations — honouring Yoga as a path of self-inquiry, transformation, and liberation.
